Law firm Cripps has completed the lateral hire of specialist professional negligence partner, Pradeep Oliver.

Pradeep joins from niche litigation law firm, Wixted & Co where he headed up the professional negligence department. He specialises in financial services negligence with a particular focus on claims arising from mis-sold or mis-managed financial arrangements including pensions, savings accounts and investments.

Recognised as a leading authority on financial services mis-selling, Pradeep has appeared on the BBC as well as being quoted in a number of respected national news publications, including the Financial Times and the Investor’s Chronicle.

Myles McIntosh, head of Cripps’ private client department said:  “Pradeep is a highly respected professional negligence lawyer whose specialist expertise further enhances our private client capabilities. His appointment is part of our strategic growth plans to expand our services to clients and to ensure our clients have access to the very best talent in the industry. We are excited to have him on board.”

Examples of his most recent cases include leading a consolidated action against a national financial adviser network who had advised their clients to invest in a fraudulent FX trading scheme and advising a couple who were provided negligent investment advice by an investment firm, mismanaging a £1 million investment portfolio.

Pradeep commented: “Cripps has one of the largest and most established private client practices in the South East with a very strong professional negligence team. I am pleased to have become a part of it.”

Pradeep is married and – in his own words – has two “boisterous boys”. In his spare time Pradeep is a Tottenham Hotspur fan and enjoys cooking South Indian food.

Cripps has offices in Tunbridge Wells, London and Kings Hill.
