Transition of the HMRC website to gov.uk6 March, 2015
A reminder that the Stamp Taxes and ATED (Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings) guidance on the HMRC website moved to the gov.uk website on 18th Dec.
As part of the government’s plan to become ‘digital by default’, all public-facing government websites are being moved to just one site at www.gov.uk. Most departments have already made the transition to gov.uk and HMRC is the most recent to make the move.
The existing customer guidance, including calculators, forms, manuals, email alerts etc. moved to the gov.uk website at the end of last year and in addition to this, HMRC are creating new content and modifying existing material (although they have said that they won’t be editing the manuals, notices or other technical guidance from the HMRC Library).
HMRC’s existing online services, such as the Stamp Taxes Online Service and Self-Assessment, won’t change as a result of transition but will now be accessed from the gov.uk website.
More information about the transition is available via the gov.uk transition blog – https://transition.blog.gov.uk.
