Cripps’ corporate team has advised on the sale of Rainbow Private Nursery School near Tadcaster in Yorkshire, to Kids Planet.
Established in 1992, Rainbow Private Nursery School is a 227 place day nursery and out of school club. Previous owners, Mr Karl and Mrs Harriet Shields, acquired the business back in 2007, and recently decided to sell to allow them to take a well-deserved retirement from the sector.
It has been purchased by Kids Planet, one of the largest day nursery groups in the country, with 85 nurseries across the UK and more planned in the future.
The Cripps team, which was led by Julie Hughes and included Lauren Romo, Megan Pitt and Oliver Copp, advised all legal aspects of the sale, working closely with Vicky Marsland at specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.
Commenting on the legal support provided, owner of Rainbow Private Nursery School, Karl Shields commented, “Selling a business can be daunting and we were fortunate to be introduced to Julie and her all-star team at Cripps. Not only did they provide the critical support we needed, helpfully demystifying the legal process as required, they were also fully knowledgeable in the specifics of the nursery industry, and were able to guide us through to completion in an effective yet relaxed manner.”
If you would like details of other transactions the team has completed in the childcare sector, please contact Sam Jones.
