Cripps apprentice recognised at National Apprenticeship Awards
An apprentice at leading law firm Cripps has won South East Advanced Apprentice of the Year as part of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
Rosie Harvey, a paralegal apprentice at the firm, beat off tough competition to win the regional award and will now progress to represent the South East at the National Final on 25 November.
Rosie joined Cripps in 2018, after studying at Beacon Academy in Crowborough, when the firm launched its paralegal apprenticeship scheme in partnership with BPP University Law School.
Rosie commented: “I am delighted to have won in the regional finals. These awards are helping to highlight the success stories of apprenticeships across the country. I hope that winning this award will encourage other students to break the mould and choose an alternative route into their chosen career.
In January, subject to passing my final exams, I will be starting my solicitor apprenticeship at Cripps and I’m looking forward to the next 5 years of hard work. As the South East Advanced Apprentice of the Year 2020, I will continue to champion apprenticeships in my area.”
Gavin Tyler, managing partner, said: “This is a great achievement for Rosie and we are really proud of how far she and all our other apprentices have come since joining us. Apprenticeships are still relatively new to Cripps, but so far the scheme has gone above and beyond what we expected. We now have eight paralegal apprentices at the firm, and in January we will be launching our first solicitor apprenticeship scheme.
It has been great to see Rosie flourish at Cripps. She is a great ambassador for the programme, and we are delighted that she will be continuing to develop her career here.”
