Cripps secures prestigious place on Landsec’s legal roster

18 Jul 2022

Cripps law firm, based in London and Tunbridge Wells, has secured a coveted place on Landsec’s property legal panel.

On 18 July, the FTSE 100 real estate property investor and developer announced that it had completed a retender of the panel. The review sought to align Landsec’s legal services with the organisation’s new strategy – which has a particular focus on mixed-use urban neighbourhoods – while ensuring successful firms complemented the company’s ‘Build Well, Live Well, Act Well’ sustainability strategy.

As a purpose-driven law firm, Cripps is committed to protecting the planet and using its collective skills and resources to help make a positive and lasting difference to the built environment, making it a perfect partner for Landsec.

Client Relationship Partner, Anna Favre, of Cripps said:

“We are delighted to have been appointed to the property legal panel and to be working closely with Landsec to achieve its objectives for growth in the mixed use urban environment. Our unique offering as specialists in contentious and non-contentious residential real estate means we are ideally placed to provide targeted legal support in this area.

“As a new strategic supplier to Landsec, we are also pleased to have the opportunity to act in partnership to improve how we operate as a responsible business, such as reducing our carbon emissions and improving diversity and inclusion.  With Landsec as a client partner we will share the skills, resources and knowledge to tackle these real-world problems together.”

Cripps is among nine firms appointed to the panel, including CMS, Herbert Smith Freehills, Pinsent Masons and Gowling WLG.

Alex Peeke, Head of Legal at Landsec said: “We have been very pleased with the performance of our panel over the last 6 years and in particular during the pandemic when they helped us carry out some major transactions under very challenging circumstances.  Our review has enabled us to tap into some of the additional capability that our panel has to support new focus areas for the business, such as mixed-use urban neighbourhoods.

“We are also delighted to welcome Cripps and Gowling to the panel and look forward to working with them.  I am very confident that we have the capacity, capability and enthusiasm in our panel to help us deliver our strategy over the next 5 years.”
