Local Planet teams up with Amazon marketplace agency Maze-One

Cripps has advised independent media agency network Local Planet on its joint venture with the Dutch based Amazon marketplace specialist agency Maze-One, to launch Maze-One International, a full-service marketplace agency with global capabilities.

Local Planet, a longstanding client of the firm, is the only privately-held global media agency in the world. A union of the fastest growing media agencies, Local Planet now includes 54 agencies across 67 markets worldwide, with combined client media billings of $15.7bn.

Amsterdam based agency Maze-One specialises in helping brands to be successful on platforms such as Amazon.

Launched at the end of January, Maze-One International combines Maze-One’s specialist expertise with Local Planet’s local-up approach to consumer understanding, to form a full-service marketplace agency specialising in Amazon. It will service multi-market brands who want to see the benefits of e-commerce on various platforms in various markets.

Corporate partner and media agency specialist Nigel Stanford, assisted by Lauren Romo, advised Local Planet on all legal aspects of the deal including structuring the transaction, drafting and negotiating the Joint Venture documentation and liaising with Dutch Counsel.
