UK comms market attracts further overseas interest
An award-winning Scottish agency has become the latest acquisition of a multi-national digital performance marketing and technology group looking to expand across Europe.
DAC Group’s purchase of Edinburgh-based Ambergreen Internet Marketing Ltd is the Canadian company’s second acquisition in the UK and supports its ambitions to create an international network of digital agencies.
The deal was handled by the advertising, media and technology team at law firm Cripps led by partner Nigel Stanford, who said: “DAC Group is an ambitious, growing organisation looking to build a presence beyond its core North American market.
“It targets high-quality agencies – Ambergreen was Digital Agency of the Year in the 2016 ScotlandIS awards – and provides financial and technological support to help them expand in their home markets.
DAC Group was founded in 1972 and has grown into one of North America’s leading digital performance marketing agencies with a reputation for using innovative technology to deliver highly-targeted local advertising. It operates from a network of offices in Canada, the USA and the UK.
Norm Hagarty, CEO and managing partner, said: “The acquisition of Ambergreen marks the next chapter in our journey to become a player on the international digital performance marketing stage. The expertise provided by Cripps was invaluable in bringing the transaction to a successful conclusion. Their lawyers were responsive, translated the law into straightforward language, came up with practical solutions and managed the challenges of communicating with us across different time zones very well.”
