About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a data compliance officer to join our risk and compliance team in Tunbridge Wells. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm’s compliance with data protection laws, safeguarding personal data, and promoting a privacy-focused culture within the organisation. You will be responsible for handling data protection and the prevention of data breaches.
You will work closely with the risk & compliance manager, ICT operations manager and out information security engineer to review our current data protection practices and policies and prioritize action to further the firms current position and to create and deliver the road map activities to support the technology and data strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for raising awareness across the firm and establishing guidelines for data compliance practices and policies.
Key projects will include a review of digital records management supporting our cloud migration project as well as tools to prevent potential data breaches.
The role would suit someone with similar experience gained in a standalone role. You will also have a good working knowledge of the ISO9001 standards. As our data compliance officer (DPC), you will have knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 1998 and related regulations. Some knowledge of the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, the Bribery Act 2010 and Criminal finances Act 2017. With an eye for detail, a passion for process and a love of keeping up to date with the latest regulatory changes needed to perform this role.
