Places and Spaces webinar: Small sites, big challenges?

8 May 2026

This event is a key part of our Places and Spaces series, which explores the legal challenges and emerging opportunities shaping today’s real estate landscape.

The planning system is becoming increasingly complex for small and medium-sized residential development. The level of information and reporting required to support applications has spiralled. Biodiversity Net Gain requirements, CIL and Section 106 contributions have increased with viability implications, and policy expectations on all development increases the risks associated with securing a favourable decision.

We will consider

  • Whether recent changes are working
  • Whether proposed changes in the NPPF will make a difference
  • Section 106 for small developments
  • Temporary relief in London on CIL

Join us as we discuss challenges around smaller or medium-sized sites with our special guest Rob Burnham from Greenplan.
