Merging for growth: Creating a tax-efficient property investment group

The partners of an investment property business focusing on the East of England wished to merge their property portfolios and business with a UK incorporated investment company which already held six property investments to create a group structure to reduce risk, costs and repay debt. Working closely with the partners, the investment company, the tax advisers and our colleagues in our Real Estate team we were able to implement the merger by way of a reorganisation to incorporate the partnership into a UK company and create a group structure.
