Cripps appoints Victoria Symons as new head of corporate

22 Nov 2022

UK law firm Cripps has appointed partner Victoria Symons as the new head of its corporate practice.

Victoria took up the leadership position on 1 November from James Beatton who will succeed Gavin Tyler as managing partner when Gavin retires next May.

With over 20 years’ experience, Victoria acts as a corporate adviser to businesses and their owners on issues ranging from growth to succession. She has particular expertise advising on investment funds in the green energy space, and works closely with colleagues in the firm’s private wealth and real estate teams to provide integrated, holistic advice to clients.

Victoria will build upon the solid foundations laid by James, harnessing technology to improve the client experience and expanding the corporate practice in line with the firm’s ambitious growth strategy.

Gavin Tyler, managing partner at Cripps, said: “With her strong internal network across the firm, gained from working closely with our private client and real estate practices in addition to the corporate team, Victoria is extremely well placed to step into James’ shoes and further enable us to provide fully integrated legal services to our corporate clients.”

Victoria said: “Having joined the corporate team six years ago, I am proud to be leading such a dedicated, dynamic and experienced team. I will be focused on expanding our corporate capabilities to fully showcase the range and depth of expertise we have across each stage of the lifecycle of a business. I look forward to working within the leadership team to ensure Cripps is considered the pre-eminent law firm in the South.”
