Legal Bites: Family Law in Focus

20 Nov 2025

We’re excited to invite you to our Cripps ‘Family Law in Focus’ roundtable breakfast, taking place at our Tunbridge Wells office, on Thursday, 20 November 2025.

This will be a relaxed, informal session with peers, where we’ll explore current issues in family law, hear from expert speakers, and open the floor for discussion and questions. It’s a space for thoughtful exchange, whether you want to contribute, ask questions, or simply listen.

We’re delighted to welcome Albert Gibbon from Pump Court Chambers, who will be speaking on child maintenance and providing a private child law update.

Emma Snowdon, Cripps

Emma is an associate in the family team where she advises clients on a range of family matters. Her role at Cripps enables her to provide support and guidance to people through an emotionally difficult and incredibly stressful time in their lives.

Albert Gibbon, Pump Court Chambers

Albert has developed a practice in proceedings for financial remedies and claims under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. He acts in cases ranging from those with more modest assets to those with larger, more complex assets. He is comfortable dealing with arguments relating to short marriages and non-matrimonial property. Albert has successfully appeared in proceedings brought under s37 MCA 1973 to set aside a disposition. He has also been involved in complicated enforcement proceedings in which a party has made an application to set aside an executory order under the Thwaite jurisdiction. Albert also accepts instructions in claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.

Albert already has extensive experience in private children work, and in associated proceedings in which applications have been made for injunctions under the Family Law Act 1996. He frequently acts in cases involving serious allegations of domestic abuse, parental alienation, or where significant drug and alcohol abuse problems are present.

Alongside his practice, Albert is a member of the Kent & SE London YRES committee. He is responsible for arranging seminars, training and social events for barristers, solicitors, members of the judiciary, and other family law professionals in the region. He has been invited to give a range of talks, seminars, and legal updates to organisations, including but not limited to Hampshire Resolution, Kent Resolution, and Legal 500 Leading Firms. Albert also writes case summaries for the Financial Remedies Journal.

Albert is ranked as a ‘Rising Star’ for Children Law in the Legal 500 2026.
