Beep beep: VAT reverse charge reversing

Further to our previous blog published on 5 September 2019, please note that the government has, over the weekend, pushed back its decision to bring its new VAT reverse charge requirements by a year (i.e. to 1 October 2020).

We had some concerns that the industry did not seem to be ready for what could, in some cases, be a significant administrative and accounting change and it appears that the government may not have been entirely prepared either (presumably because of some large political distractions at present!).

This delay now gives some much needed breathing space for all parties and we look forward to assisting our clients with any issues concerning the VAT reverse charge in a year’s time!
